The Northern Blues U21 men’s hockey team and the Western Province U21 women’s team were crowned as South African champions at the respective National U21 Tournaments in Pretoria and Durban on Saturday evening.

 Friday’s sixth day of the SA U21 men’s and women’s interprovincial hockey tournaments in Pretoria and Durban respectively, saw the finalists decided.

The fifth and final day’s play Thursday in the preliminary stage of the SA U21 men’s and women’s interprovincial hockey tournaments in Pretoria and Durban respectively, saw the semi-finalists decided.

Over 1000 hockey players have descended on the KwaZulu-Natal capital for three days of fun with old friends and former rivals in one of the biggest events of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

The Time Freight South African Masters will take place on nine hockey turfs and grass pitches in Pietermaritzburg from Thursday to Saturday and brings together 66 men’s and women’s provincial teams from all over South Africa as well as Namibia and Zimbabwe.
