South Africa Under-18 boys hockey team take on Australia in Pretoria tonight
PRETORIA - The South Africa Under-18 boys' hockey team meet Australia U17 in three Test matches in Pretoria this week, beginning at 7.30 pm Wednesday night at St Alban's College in Lynwood Glen, Pretoria.
The second and third Tests take place at the same time and venue on Thursday and Friday night.
SA coach Brendon Carolan told SA Hockey Media Wednesday afternoon that Australia's dominance of world hockey would provide the SA youngsters with a true test of their ability.
"The best way to measure the progress of this SA side is to test them against the very best in the world and that is what we face at St Alban's tonight," said Carolan.
"The South African boys represent the cream of the country's young talent and will form the nucleus of the SA U21 team for the 2013 Junior World Cup in Delhi, India, so it is important that we see where we stand at this time."
