Investec SA Hockey Women Vs Ireland 12.30 This Afternoon (SA Time)

The Investec South Africa women's hockey team meet Ireland for fifth place at the Champions Challenge tournament in Dublin, Ireland  at 12.30 this afternoon (SA time).

South Africa beat Japan 5-1 in a Pool A match and put 5 goals past the USA in Pool A; but they are both in the final!

The experimental format introduced by the International Hockey Federation for this tournament is unpopular with all the teams - including Japan and the USA, and has led to this unsatisfactory outcome.

SA are widely regarded as the team of the tournament - have scored more goals than any other team and have the top tournament goalscorer in world record holder Pietie Coetzee.
