EAST LONDON - The Pool A match between defending champions Southern Gauteng and Western Province went the way of the Cape team 3-1 at the SA Women's Interprovincial Hockey Tournament in East London Wednesday.

Southerns had themselves to blame as they missed numerous opportunities but WP were more adept in the attacking circle from both field and penalty corner play.
