SA Men vs Kenya

The Men's side drew 3 all against Kenya in Nairobi yesterday. Playing on the 'Bumpy" surface which will be used for the upcoming Africa Qlympic Qualifier later in July and in pouring rain.

Four Nations Tournament

SPAR Ladies hockey arrived in Dublin on Sunday to play in a Four Nations Tournament - Ireland, Germany, Scotland and S.A.  The Tournament is sponsored by Setanta and is called the Setanta Sports Trophy.  There is a mens section running at the same time and includes Ireland, Canada, Egypt and Wales.

SA MENS HOCKEY TEAM ANNOUNCED.

The South African Hockey Association today announced their men’s team to participate in the Africa Olympic Qualifier Tournament.

The Africa Olympic Qualifier Tournament takes place in Nairobi, Kenya from the 14th to 22nd July 2007.

The other countries that will be participating against South Africa in the tournament are Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia and hosts Kenya.

Hockey Festival at Uplands College, Mpumalanga

Uplands College situated in Witriver Mpumalanga hosted a hockey festival on the newly erected artificial surface. This is the first artificial surface in the Mpumalanga province and will improve the preparation of the Mpumalanga Hockey teams in the different national tournaments.

SA Hockey would like to congratulate Uplands College and would like to partner the College in hosting coaching and technical courses for the regions.

 

Launch of KC March Hockey Facility

Melvindale, Port Elizabeth

History was made when Eastern Province Hockey Federation named the home of EP in honour of KC March on Wednesday 24 May 2007.

Guest speaker at the function, Charles Smith highlighted the role played by Kenny and his contribution to hockey over many years.

Dave Carr President of SAHA officially named the facility in honor of KC March.

This is the first hockey facility to be named in honor of a person.

Northerns New U21 Ladies Champions

The day started with EP Settlers vs KZN Midlands. The full time score was 2-2 and this match then went to Penalty Strokes. Midlands had good practise with this yesterday and won 5-2.

This match was followed by Southern Freestate and Witwatersrand - the final score 1-2

Peninsula was up next against Eastern Province and in a tight match Pens won 2-1
