TRIBUTE TO PAT DEACON

What can I say about a person that has sacrificed her entire life for school sport and more especial hockey. I’ve had the honour and privilege to work with Pat since 1991 and throughout all those years I could confide and discuss more than hockey matters with her. She has not only been a fellow official of mine but also a friend who always looked forward to our meetings and the time we all spent together.

WP five-star showing blows EP off the park

THE Eastern Province women’s hockey team’s woes continued at East London’s Kat Leisure Park yesterday when they were whipped 5-0 by Western Province.

The defeat was their third consecutive loss in the A section section at the inter-provincial and now hold the dubious distinction of being the only team in their pool not to have scored a goal.

Western Province are unbeaten so far and have the look of champions about them after beating reigning champions Southerns 3-1 on Wednesday.
